Engineering

Engineering for every detail of your solar project

Our services span from planning to generation, meeting the highest safety and quality standards. We aim to be a strategic, reliable partner that drives our clients' growth and profitability.

Calculation

Structural calculation reports

A technical document that gathers the calculations and analyses demonstrating a project's structural integrity and safety. Prepared and signed by a structural engineer, it covers key elements:

  1. General project description and specifications.
  2. Structural analysis.
  3. Design calculations.
  4. Material specifications.
  5. Drawings and diagrams.
Design

Design of support structures for solar panels

Planning, calculation and creation of the structures that firmly hold solar panels in place. We ensure the stability, durability and optimal performance of photovoltaic projects under varying environmental conditions.

Analysis

Specific studies for seismic loads

A detailed analysis of the seismic forces that can affect a photovoltaic system at a specific location, so the design can withstand the site's own conditions. To do this we collect:

  1. Seismic hazard data.
  2. Soil and geotechnical data.
  3. Topographic data.
Field testing

Tension tests (Pull Out Test)

We verify the stability and strength of anchoring structures in different soil types. These tests assess the load capacity and mechanical performance of piles and foundations. We have high-precision equipment and a specialized technical team to optimize the design and installation of photovoltaic systems, meeting the industry's most demanding standards.

Standards

Structural engineering studies

We review, validate and build the calculation tools behind structural design, in line with each country's current codes. Our work covers:

  1. Review of structural calculations against each country's current standards.
  2. Development of spreadsheets to design and check steel elements in IR and OC profiles.
  3. Assessment of elements under bending, compression, shear, combined bending-compression and bending-torsion.
  4. Design criteria by strength, by load and resistance factors, and by allowable strength.

Code coverage: Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.

Monitoring

Structural studies and monitoring

We assess, instrument and monitor the steel structures of photovoltaic parks. Through non-invasive studies on piles and metal structures we detect tilting, deformation, vibration and corrosion before they turn into failures. It includes:

  1. Structural health monitoring (SHM) with sensors and platforms to read the structures' condition in real time.
  2. Assessment of steel pile inclination relative to the vertical.
  3. On-site vibration tests to identify natural frequencies and dynamic response.
  4. Support for Pull Out Test campaigns with instrumentation and complementary analysis.
  5. Early detection of anomalies: excessive tilt, deformation or corrosion.
  6. Technical input for preventive and corrective maintenance.

This lets us confirm in the field what the design predicted and reduce structural risks across the park's whole service life.

Track record

Large-Scale Projects

We have run load tests (Pull Out Test) on large-scale photovoltaic parks across Colombia and Mexico. Each one supports the region's energy transition with real solar generation in operation.
